J.J. McCarthy, a happy Wolverine at Saturday’s spring football game, was taken with the 10th overall pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, who traded up to get him from the New York Jets. He wasn’t in Detroit, but rather with family and friends in Romulus when selected. He slapped hands and quickly placed a Vikings cap on his head — all smiles.
Why he’ll be great in the NFL: He has the arm, feet and leadership skills. But watch him make pre-snap decisions and then improvise on the run, under heat. He does that better than any of the five QBs drafted before him.

Felt like we finished second to Minnesota every year :(
I love JJ but I hate that he went to Minnesota. I hope he does great but not as great as the Lions!
