Viewing the Bo Schembechler Statue
Steve Everitt and daughter Jamie display the power of a visit to the bronze statue outside the building where Michigan football players have practiced and trained since her father played, 1989-92
Michigan blocking great Steve Everitt and his daughter, Jamie, give a thumbs-up to Bo Schembechler at the base of his statue at Schembechler Hall in Ann Arbor. The Everitts live in the Florida Keys, where Jamie is a budding singer and actress and Steve is living the good life while looking forward to Father’s Day on Sunday.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Bo's Boys, as his former players are known, often visit the bronze statue erected of him in front of Schembechler Hall in 2014. It’s their way of remembering Bo and introducing him to their children. It works as a connection-maker because it’s one of the best likenesses I’ve seen in such a work of art.
Wolverine center Steve Everitt, the Cleveland Browns’ first-round draft pick in 1993, snapped this photo of himself and daughter Jamie, now 11, a few years ago while visiting for a game. You can feel their glow, can’t you?
I wanted to share this with readers to exhibit the importance of the Bo statue, a symbol of the greatest coach I’ve known and a touching reminder of his lasting impact on any fortunate enough to have called him their friend.
